Operations employees held their annual tamale breakfast on December 5, 2019 to help district families in need. Team volunteers were up before the sun to cook and serve breakfast to guests including Governing Board members, district colleagues and community supporters. That year's event raised over $2,700 in donations to benefit six families.

Operations Employee of the Month

Operations Employee of the Month - Gary Barkman

We are coloring a little outside of the lines this month, but we would like to recognize Gary Barkman as our Operations Employee of the Month. Gary is Procurement Specialist Supervisor in the Purchasing Department and is one of the 3 buyers located here at the Operations yard. Gary has worked at MPS since approximately 2001 with all of his time dedicated to the Operations and Purchasing departments. Gary is not only a go-to person at MPS, but statewide he is also regarded as "Mr. Procurement." He holds training classes in Procurement through the Arizona Association of School Business Officials and provides support to all school districts across Arizona. Gary's dedication to MPS Operations, Purchasing and the purchasing community is priceless!
