I serve our Mesa community as the Director of Opportunity and Achievement.  Our department goal is to increase student opportunity while at the same time supporting student achievement. Prior to taking this position, I spent eleven years as an English teacher, AVID teacher, and AVID Coordinator at Mesa High School, an AVID National Demonstration School.  I also served four years as the AVID District Director for Mesa for four years. My journey with Mesa Public Schools began long ago as an elementary student at Sirrine Elementary. I then went on to enjoy three great years at Hendrix Junior High and eventually graduated from Dobson High School..

I  hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University.
