Reading Intervention

It's Reading Intervention Time!  That is what our students in the primary grades are involved in for 30+ minutes daily.  This is extra time that students are involved in reading instruction and activities above and beyond the regular classroom reading instruction time.  The Interventionists meet with students in their own classrooms and/or students come into the Intervention Classroom for more intense sessions.  The groups are usually 4-5 students working on phonics skills, word study, reading fluency, spelling, learning strategies, and writing that supports reading.  Instruction is fast paced and students build confidence and view themselves as readers and writers.  It has been viewed as very beneficial and successful by teachers, parents, and most importantly, by the students themselves.
