Parental involvement policy and regulation
The Arizona Legislature has enacted a law that lists various rights of parents relating to their children's education. The district has adopted a policy and regulation to implement this law. Topics:
- Homework, attendance and discipline
- Courses of study, instructional materials, promotion and graduation requirements, district policies and regulations
- Objection to instructional material and withdrawing a child from an activity
- Permission for children to participate in sex education curriculum, including dating abuse
- Withdrawing children from instruction or presentations relating to sexuality in courses other than sex education curriculum
- Student clubs and other extracurricular activities
- Open enrollment
- Immunizations
- Student state assessment results and the Student Accountability Information System (SAIS)
- Programs for gifted students
