I spent my early years growing up in Gilbert, AZ and graduated from Gilbert High School. I went on to receive my B.A. in Secondary Education; after which, I moved to Switzerland and taught at the International School of Basel. When I returned to the states, I spent a year teaching at Pappas High School in Phoenix. At this point, I wanted to come closer to my childhood neighborhood and started my career with Mesa Public Schools. I was a teacher and an administrator at Riverview for 10 years. During my time at Riverview, I completed my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University and have received my Ed. D from Walden University.
I then moved over to Crossroads, and was the principal of the school for five years.
During this time I married Dimitri Uhlik in 2011, and we welcomed our first child, Mila in 2013. We rounded out our family with the addition of Alexander in 2015. He joined his furry feline brothers, Sonny and Geordie. In 2020, we brought home Scarlett, our Labrastaff puppy.
While I was pregnant with Alexander, I made the decision to come back to Riverview. I have always thought of Riverview as my home away from home. This is now my 16th year at Riverview, and I couldn't be happier.
I am now the Gradpoint Facilitator for the school, as well as the PBIS Field Trip Coordinator, and the "Overseer of Seniors". I specifically work with the seniors to help guide them in life choices for post graduation, be it military, college, technical school.
After 15 years at Riverview, I am still very excited to be a part of the school! I am looking forward to having another successful year and ecstatic about some of the new programs we are implementing.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you, parents and students alike, and to build a relationship that will help our students grow in both their academics and their character.
