Biography:
The 2021-2022 school year will be my 17th year as a counselor for Mesa Public Schools. For 12 years I had the pleasure of serving SHARP School students. In 2016 I joined the Red Mountain advisement department on a full time basis. My daughter is a 2017 Red Mountain graduate so my roots as a Lion are strong!
Prior to coming to SHARP, I was a therapist in group homes and residential treatment centers, where I worked with youth to achieve personal goals in the areas of recovery and behavioral health.
Education:
My undergraduate path began as a Music Education major at Indiana University - Bloomington. While attending school there, I enjoyed performing in the Marching Hundred during football season and serving as pledge class president for the Music Sorority Tau Beta Sigma.
As time went on and I began studying the educational side of Music, I found a new interest in psychology and made the decision to switch majors. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University.
I went on to study Community Counseling through the University of Phoenix Master's Program and received additional training through their K-12 School Guidance Counseling Program.
Leisure:
I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and caring for our own rescue dog & cats, previously fostering through The Arizona Animal Welfare League & Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. I'm one of the founders of the rescue group Medical Animals In Need (M.A.I.N.).
