Early Childhood Special Education

The Early Childhood Special Education Program serves over 1,200 preschool students with special needs district wide each year. We have certified teachers on staff and our support staff includes speech language pathologists, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Our Early Childhood Special Education classes are designed to serve preschool children from 3 years to 5 years of age. All of our students work on increasing age-appropriate interactions within the home and school environments, and we believe family members are an integral component of the educational process. During the preschool day, our students participate in a variety of activities using the Creative Curriculum. Children experience many opportunities for learning through play including circle time, small and large group activities, independent playtime, story time, etc. Our goal is to provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate, educational environment that builds each student's foundation for learning. We are committed to provide all of our students with an outstanding and positive school experience. Working together, we can accomplish wonderful things for your child. Again, welcome to the Mesa Public School District Early Childhood Special Education program where "success is expected, documented, and celebrated."
