What is ACE?
Through a joint venture between Mesa Public Schools and Boeing, Mesa's fifth grade students have the unique opportunity to extend and apply their knowledge of scientific principles through the subject of aviation. Mesa Public Schools opened their first Flight Center in 1998 and the second Flight Center in 2000. Each year more than 140 classes, approximately 3800 fifth graders, visit Mesa's Flight Centers. This motivational experience uses the theme of aviation to capture the imagination of students and engage them in a variety of learning activities. The curriculum is aligned to National and Arizona State Standards in all content areas. The Flight Center has made some great changes to the program and is now known as ACE (Aeronautical Center of Exploration)!
