Biography
It is hard to believe that I am in my 6th year in Mesa Public Schools! I have had the pleasure of being the principal of SHARP since my time in Mesa. I am also going into my 2nd year as the Director of Student Support Systems. Time truly flies when you are having fun!
I am proud to be an Arizona native, born and raised in the white mountains of our beautiful state. I left the state in my early twenties to raise my family in Colorado. I hold a variety of degrees that range from elementary education, ESL, special education (severe and profound), vision specialist, to administration. My teaching experience included general education, ESL, special education and itinerant teaching. I have cherished the opportunities to work with such a variety of students, it is these experiences that have made me a better person and educator. My administration experience includes being a Special Education Director, principal and now Director of Student Support Systems.
My experiences have taught me that all children can learn but each learns in a different way and at different rates. I know that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child in a special way. I also know that each child touches our lives in a special way. Keeping the school climate positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. Teamwork is the ultimate way our schools can be successful in reaching the goal of helping each child attain his or her full potential. I am proud to be part of such an amazing team at SHARP
