Summit Received an "A" Letter Grade from the Arizona Department of Education!
Letter grades by the Arizona Department of Education were released October 5th, and we're proud to announce that Summit Academy received an "A." This is a letter grade increase from last year.
This grade is determined primarily by student growth and proficiency on the state assessments, AzMerit, and AIMS Science test. Additional factors include English Language Learners, special education students, and absenteeism. The hard work of our students, staff, and community all contributed to our success.
Summit Academy will continue to follow the International Baccalaureate teaching philosophy. The IB program requires a positive attitude toward learning and challenges students to solve problems and show creativity. There will be continous emphasis on depth of learning, not just coverage. At Summit Academy, it is our goal to challenge all students to use critical thinking skills, and to empower students to apply their learning in real world applications. Summit Academy IB learners are lifelong learners.
Way to go, Mountaineers! Thank you for all you do for our school and community.
