Mr. Steven Miner

I'm excited to begin my first year at Summit Academy as a Social Studies teacher! Prior to this year, I taught 7th and 8th grade Social Studies in Queen Creek. I'm happy to be back home, though, as I grew up here in Mesa and graduated from Mountain View High School. I received my bachelor's degree in Political Science at Brigham Young University before obtaining my teaching certificate and am currently finishing my Master's in Political Management through George Washington University. My wife Brittni and I have twin toddlers (Owen and Eleanor) and a white shepherd named Ghost.

Prior to becoming a teacher, I spent a few years working on political campaigns and in public affairs. As much as I enjoyed it, I knew teaching was my true calling. I am excited to share my passion for history and civics with your child. Most of my spare time is spent with my wife and kids, but I also love walking/hiking with my dog, playing tennis, and watching sports. I love Arizona teams, particularly the Suns, so I'm used to constant heartache.
