Hello! I'm so excited to have worked 23 years as the Speech-Language Pathologist proudly serving the needs of students with speech/language impairments at Taft Elementary. Born and raised in Iowa, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science and Master’s degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from The University of Iowa. Upon completion of my graduate degree, I worked as an SLP in Lincoln Public Schools (Lincoln, Nebraska) for 7 years before moving to Arizona. During my 23 years with Mesa Public Schools, Taft Elementary has been my primary school assignment, but I've also worked with students at Sousa Elementary, Zaharis Elementary, Smith Jr. High, Fremont Jr. High, and Skyline High School. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and am licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services. My areas of specialty are assessing and treating speech and language impairments that impact preschool and elementary-aged students. Outside of school hours, I also work as a supervisor of speech-language pathology assistants providing home speech therapy to children with a variety of communication needs. When not working, I thoroughly enjoy traveling, supporting my daughter in all of her activities, spending time with family and friends, trying to become a better photographer, making photo books, playing the piano, and watching football (Go Cardinals & Hawkeyes!). It is a pleasure to work with the students and families of Taft Elementary!
