Alexandra Fardelos is in her second year as the choir and musical director at Taylor Junior High, as well as the elementary music teacher and choir director at Porter Elementary. This is her fourth year of teaching, and second year of directing the Junior Choir at the Chandler Children’s Choir. She has taught music and choir to all ages, K–12 in the Mesa, Gilbert, and Higley public school districts. She is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and has served on the Arizona Board of ACDA for five years.
Mrs. Fardelos received her bachelor's degree in Choral Music Education from Northern Arizona University. While at NAU, she sang in multiple ensembles including the Shrine of the Ages Choir, Women's Chorale, University Singers, and the Harter M. Memorial Handbell Choir. She has performed in other countries while touring with the Shrine of the Ages choir, including Sweden, Estonia, and Latvia. When she graduated NAU she received the Gold Axe award, an award given to the school’s top five percent of graduating seniors.
In her spare time Mrs. Fardelos teaches private voice lessons, loves to play video games with her husband (a band teacher at Higley High School), and is the cat mom to her Siamese kittens, TaunTaun and Jawa (both named after creatures in Star Wars).
Due to Covid-19, students are only able to use the water fountain if they have a water bottle to fill it up. To help students be able to have the water they need to take care of their voice and sing healthily, we have been keeping extra water bottles in the classroom. If you would like to donate a case of water, please leave it in the Front Office, and say it is for choir. We appreciate your help and assistance!!
