Biography
I am grateful to be continuing my journey with Mesa Public Schools. I am a product of the wonderful opportunities that are available throughout our District. I was born and raised here, and attended Elementary, Jr. High and High School in Mesa Public Schools too.
I went on to receive a B.A. in Elementary Education from Ottawa University, a M.A. in Elementary Education from NAU, as well as my SEI Endorsement, Reading Endorsement, and Early Childhood Endorsement.
I began my teaching career at Guerrero Elementary where I was part of the wonderful team that opened the school. There I taught 1st and 2nd grades in a looping model. I then went on to work as a Reading Coach at Eisenhower Elementary, Kerr Elementary, and Madison Elementary. Next, I was lucky enough to work as a Title I School Improvement Specialist at Field Elementary. During this time, I had three children of my own and I decided to take some time off to be a Mom full time. When my children all reached school age, I decided to return to Mesa Public Schools as a KinderU Preschool Teacher based at Hermosa Vista Elementary School. Most recently, I have joined the Title I Department as an ESEA Improvement Specialist. It feels wonderful to be able to come back to my roots, and I am excited to continue my journey with Mesa Public Schools.
I am honored to have been able to have so many experiences and roles within Mesa Public Schools. Each one has had its own set of challenges and areas of focus, and I have grown professionally during each one. I am continuing to learn and grow in my current role as an ESEA Improvement Specialist, as I work alongside the Title I Specialists to ensure that the most important focus of our jobs, the students, are provided the best quality education that they deserve.
