Thank you for joining me on my home page! Are you ready to dive into the BEST professional development based on the science of reading? If so, welcome to LETRS!

LETRS is professional learning that provides teachers with deep knowledge to become literacy and language experts by providing the research, depth of knowledge and skills to make significant improvement in the literacy and language development of every student.

I am thrilled to use my background in reading to coordinate and support Mesa Public School's rollout of LETRS training to our teachers. I have been a certified LETRS trainer in Mesa for the past decade and have helped train hundreds of Mesa teachers. This is deep, significant professional learning that helps teachers make the best decisions about reading, their students, and empowers them to be wiser than any curriculum.

In my 28 years, I have taught K-6, served as an interventionist, Reading Coach, Title l School Improvement Specialist, and Instructional Specialist (Coach). I have used my passion, experience and knowledge in reading to work with teachers across MPS and have taught and created district classes in reading.  I earned two Masters degrees- one in Elementary Education and one in Educational Leadership.

I am truly excited for the journey our district is embarking on. There is no better PD in reading out there. I am eager to work with so many of you that I have connected with in the past, in this new capacity and work alongside those of you I have yet to know.

On a personal note, my family and I have had the privilege of leading, serving and attending at 12 different schools in MPS. We believe this district has the variety and excellence to build every student for success and are proud to contribute to that goal. My husband currently serves as principal at Field Elementary. Our three children, all who attended and graduated from Mesa schools include: an ICU nurse, a production assistant at NBC in New York City, and a recent graduate starting college studying Hotel Restaurant Management this fall.

During the pandemic I wrote and published two children's books on Amazon starring our rescue dog, Watson. I also love to bake and decorate cakes.

Here is a link to the videos I created while serving as Title l Specialist at Ishikawa that showcase the first lesson in each week of the 95% group multisyllable routines.
