Air Force Junior ROTC . : . Aerospace Science/Leadership Education

The Air Force JROTC Program prepares high school cadets for responsible leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities and privileges as American citizens. The program is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school and provides instruction and rewarding opportunities which will benefit the cadet, community and nation.

AZ earned an overall unit assessment score of “Exceeds Standards”…the highest rating attainable…during their evaluation on 29-Jan- 2018. CMSgt Brian K. Shaffer, Lt Col Joseph D. Abel, created a dynamic and supportive learning environment coupled with an excellent community outreach. The instructors provided outstanding leadership in administering the cadet centered citizenship program. The Westwood High School cadets performed exceptionally well and took great pride in leading and accomplishing their unit goals. The Westwood High School Air Force ROTC citizenship program is making a positive impact on the cadets, the school and the community.
