Mesa Public Schools is excited to announce the pilot rollout of ParentSquare, a two-way communication app designed to enhance engagement between parents, students, and school staff. This pilot program will be implemented in 15 selected schools during the week of October 15, 2024, with the goal of testing the app's effectiveness before a districtwide launch.

The schools are:

  • Edison Elementary

  • Entz Elementary

  • Field Elementary

  • Highland Arts Elementary

  • Irving Elementary

  • Jefferson Elementary

  • Keller Elementary

  • Kerr Center for Agriscience

  • Lehi Elementary

  • Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies

  • Mesa High School

  • Rhodes Junior High

  • Stapley Junior High

  • Taylor Junior High

  • Wilson Elementary

The decision to adopt ParentSquare comes in response to feedback from our Mesa Parent Council, which highlighted the need for a more consistent, two-way communication tool. Following this initial discussion, the district began exploring which communication apps were in use districtwide and identified features that were most desirable for parents, teachers, and administrators. After comparing several platforms, the list was narrowed down to a couple of strong options. Over the summer, the Communications & Engagement department hosted demos with school and district administrators and gathered additional feedback from neighboring districts that had implemented similar systems. Based on these insights, ParentSquare emerged as the best choice.

ParentSquare is designed to streamline communication, making it easier for parents and educators to stay informed and connected. The app will allow for real-time messaging, announcements, and updates in 100+ languages, fostering a stronger and more responsive relationship between schools and families.

During the pilot phase, feedback from parents and school staff will be gathered to ensure a smooth transition and address any issues. Following the pilot, Mesa Public Schools will analyze the data and feedback to finalize plans for a full, districtwide implementation, expected to be in place for the 2025-26 school year.
