The Arizona Department of Education released 2024-25 school letter grades on October 29, and I’m pleased to announce that the STEM Academy earned an A. Way to go, Challengers!
This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our students, families, staff, and community. Together, we’ve built a high-performing learning environment that supports every student’s growth and success. At the STEM Academy, we remain focused on academic excellence and will continue to:
provide students with authentic learning experiences through the use of design thinking, projects, and deeper and personalized learning.
create high-levels of student engagement every day.
work with our parents as partners in their child’s education.
ensure students have the tools and skills necessary to be successful for their next educational steps.
facilitate partnerships with industry professionals, community members, and STEM-related organizations.
School letter grades are determined primarily by student growth and proficiency on state assessments. Here are a few highlights of what we’re doing especially well at the STEM Academy that contributed to this strong rating:
We prepare our students for the next steps in their education and for college and career.
We encourage our students to develop skills of perseverance, communication, and collaboration in alignment with the Mesa Portrait of a Graduate.
We empower students to take ownership of their learning and pursue their interests within the STEM fields and beyond through various projects and the design process.
