Social media, texting, calls, or games are not allowed during the school day.
Before and after school: Devices can be used in common areas like the cafeteria.
9–12 Students
Devices may only be used:
Before school
After school
During lunch (in designated areas)
During passing periods (unless a school has stricter rules)
During class: Personal devices must be turned off or on silent and kept out of sight (like in a backpack). They may not be on a students’ person (like in a pocket).
No texting, calling, games, or social media during class. This includes listening to music.
Special Situations
Students may also use devices:
For educational purposes when allowed by a teacher or outlined in a student’s IEP/504 plan.
In an emergency situation.
To manage a medical condition, if approved in advance.
Students can also use devices before and after school, including on the bus, as long as it follows the student code of conduct.
Contacting Parents
Students may only call or message a parent during the school day with staff permission.
Parents who need to reach their child during the day should call the school office. Staff will notify the student to check their device. This is only on an as-needed basis.
What Happens When Students Don't Follow the Rules
Students who don’t follow the rules may face disciplinary action.
Devices may be taken away and only returned to a parent or guardian.
The school is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen devices.
We appreciate your support in keeping our classrooms focused and safe!
